In 1909 , at Oberon, N.D., Abram Baldwin, a pioneer homesteader and businessman, commissioned the Grand Rapids, Michigan architectural firm of J. H. Daverman & Sons to build a suitable home for himself, his wife and their four children. It was at that time called the "Baldwin Mansion". Through the almost 100 years of existence, this house has been home to seven families...

In 1982 the March family had the vision and dream of moving this home from its original site to this present parcel of 12 acres in rural Carrington, ND.

movinghouse In 1982, Wayne and Rhonda March purchased the home and had Lutman House Movers relocate it from its original site in Oberon, ND to it's present location in rural Carrington,ND.
movingfield The home was too large to cross the major bridges and highway
and so it was moved during the winter in order to cross over the frozen rivers.

its new parcel of land, the project
of painting came next. It was painted in 1988.

The home was painted by Rev. Wesley Glennen and his son, Dwight Glennen. It took nearly
6 weeks to paint and 55 gallons
of paint!
